This Memorial Exhibition will showcase Mark Power’s extraordinary contributions of nearly fifty years to the Washington Photography Scene. Often called “The Father of DC Art Photography,” beginning in the early 1970’s, Power established the outstanding photo department at the Corcoran School of Art and the First Gallery Devoted to Art Photography (Icon Gallery). The reach of his influence includes: over four decades as master educator, art photographer, curator, and writer/critic. Power exhibited extensively, locally, regionally, and internationally with work in numerous museum and private collections. On view will be a selection of hit fine prints in palladium, silver, and color, as well as a sampling of his photobooks. Exhibition Catalog Available.
