(Ages 9-13) Foundation Class: Digital Photography & Photoshop Camp

Get ready for a fun and impactful educational experience from behind the camera to in front of the computer! Using an iPhone, point and shoot, or DSLR students will learn how to create stunning digital photography and enhance imagery in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. Students will first learn the fundamentals of the medium, such as composition, exposure, light & shadow, and depth of field, then transition to developing their software and editing skills. (Ages 14-17) Foundation Class: The Darkroom Diaries: Introduction to Film Photography for Teens

A comprehensive introduction to traditional black-and-white photography. Students will shoot film and develop film, create darkroom prints, and learn other photo techniques. By week’s end, they’ll have mastered the basics and presented their work. Ideal for beginners, this course fosters both technical skill-building and creative exploration. (Ages 12-17) Youth Portrait Camp

This camp will focus on portraiture. In addition to the portraiture practice - composition, exposure, light quality, indoor and outdoor locations - students will work with their classmates and have home assignments with family and friends. Necessary equipment: 35mm film camera, or plastic lens Holga camera (Holga camera is loaned by Photoworks for the class). B/W film purchase from Photoworks or local camera stores. (Ages 14-17) Focus Class: Shades of Blue: Cyanotype Photography & Mixed Media Artmaking

Each student will set goals for a cohesive set of images to be completed and exhibited on the last day of the week. The course will be a combination of darkroom skills, b/w film, printing, mat cutting, sequencing, artist statement and presentation.
